The Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong organized the Knowledge Fair on supporting children’s learning Journey through home and school education on April 13, 2024. Prof Rui Yang, the Dean of Education, gave opening remarks.
Prof Carrie Lau and Dr Rhoda Wang shared strategies and activities for enhancing children’s literacy and numeracy skills, as well as parents’ beliefs in home learning activities through the use of smartphone videos and coaching support. Dr Diana Lee discussed the potential impact of Wordless Picture Books (WPB) on Chinese language teaching practices and shared practical strategies for enhancing children’s Chinese oral narrative skills through effective utilization of WPB.
The hybrid event attracted an audience of around 200 online and offline participants. Simultaneous interpretation of Putonghua was provided for the online participants.
