Early Childhood Care and Education: Landscape Review 2010-2022

This technical report was prepared for the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) that took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 14 to 16 November 2022. It provides an overview of the current state of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in the following seven geographic regions: sub-Saharan Africa, Northern Africa and Western Asia, Central and Southern Asia, Eastern and South-Eastern Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Oceania, and Europe and Northern America, focusing on the progress made since the first WCECCE in Moscow, Russian Federation in 2010.

Responsive Policymaking and Implementation: From Equality to Equity: A Case Study of the Hong Kong Early Childhood Education and Care System

This case study considers Hong Kong’s ECEC policy and services for children from birth to the start of primary school at age 6, as well as the governance and financing of those services. Our analysis of the ECEC system is based on a detailed consideration of government documents, a review of relevant research, and interviews with 12 key stakeholders (e.g., senior government officials, influential community members, heads of service, and academics).

Consultancy Study on the Effectiveness of the Provision of Quality Kindergarten Education in Hong Kong under the Kindergarten Education Policy

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region commissioned The Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong to conduct a study on the effectiveness of the provision of quality kindergarten (KG) education under the KG education policy (KG policy) that was implemented in Hong Kong starting from the 2017/18 school year.

An Evaluation of the Early Childhood Care and Development Programme in Bhutan

This evaluation of the Early Childhood Care and Development Programme (ECCD) in Bhutan focuses on the critical contributions of ECCD services in achieving national objectives and global priorities that are aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Target 4.2.
