To enhance parents’ understanding of children’s development to help them set appropriate expectations and provide care and support to their children according to the pace of their development. In this regard, the Education Bureau has commissioned the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong to organise seminars for parents in the 2019/20 school year.
The seminar, entitled “School Transition – Parents’ Preparation”, is presented by Dr Diana Lee, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong. The seminar explores with parents the difficulties their children face in transitioning from kindergarten to primary school, the pressures of schooling, the causes of anxiety, and the strategies to help them adapt to primary school life.
