In the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, young children in Hong Kong are facing many new challenges. Over the past year or so, preschoolers have continued to learn at home for long periods. Many parents are concerned about whether their children can adapt to primary school life smoothly in the absence of face-to-face classes, lack of contact with the outside world and the need to keep a social distance from other children. In particular, how can parents help their young children build up their self-management skills in the absence of a structured school life? This seminar aims to enable parents to understand the development and needs of their children, and to think about the issues related to home learning, so that parents can help their children to organise more appropriate and effective home learning activities to prepare for their promotion to primary school.
This seminar is conducted in Cantonese.
