Double Management : Management of Young Children to Facilitate Self-management
Under the COVID-19 pandemic, young children in Hong Kong have been facing many new challenges as they have been learning at home for more than a year. Many parents worry about their children’s readiness in transition to primary school under the new normal of a lack of face-to-face classes, limited contact with the outside world, and the maintenance of social distancing with other children. In particular, with the absence of regular school routine, how can young children develop self-management skills? This seminar aims to help parents understand more about children’s developmental needs, and allow them to rethink about children’s home learning issues, so as to help children arrange more appropriate and effective home learning activities, and prepare them for primary school. Content to be covered:
- How can parents help young children develop self-management skills?
- What are the appropriate ways of using digital devices to facilitate young children’s learning?
- How do parents develop young children’s executive functions at home?
